Episode 1,243 - How to get Spiritual Immunity against the Evils of This Age
If we are committed to the Lord Jesus, we walk in victory in an eternal sense, but what about in a temporal sense? How do we use the tools God has given us to be immune to the lies of this world? Proverbs 1:7 says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Fear of the Lord used to baffle me, so I will share with you what helps me understand the fear of the Lord and how it is different from what I thought it was. We will also talk about how that tiny little phrase can help us be immune to some of the lies of this world. When we are immune to it, and when kids watch us display this immunity, then it passes on to them. Our children will continue to be under assault; for instance, take into account the University of Columbia. They are determined to create an “environment in the faculty of education that is inclusive of gender and sexual identity.” They are so good at making this sound so reasonable and loving, but how do we use the Word of God to point out that it isn't any of those things? How do we have spiritual immunity that we pass on to our kids? We can also point to this: an article from the BBC stated that “Black women most likely to die in medieval London plague.” Well, natural human skepticism can say, how many black women were in London in medieval times? But we can also look at the source and once again look at the Word of God. Proverbs 12:15 says, “The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice.” This is a scripture we should take to heart as we delve into how we navigate living in this world.
What does God’s Word say?
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. 14 But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. 15 Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. 16 For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice. 17 But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. 18 Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.
Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding, for the gain from her is better than gain from silver and her profit better than gold. She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. ...
Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future.
Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice.

Episode 1,244 - You are at war. Here’s the Battle Plan. David Young, Author of Resilient, Standing Firm in a Hostile World joins us.
Author and pastor David Young joins me. He and I talked about his book, Resilient, and some of the things we talked about struck me to the core of who I am. In fact, David and I share a love of country and a fear for the United States. His love of country is informed by his exclusive love for the Lord Jesus. We also talk about how the Founding Fathers’ actions were born out of a culture shaped by the Christian faith. It’s not just this nation that is under attack; in his book, Resilient, David shares how to stand firm in a hostile world.
What does God’s Word say?
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

Great stuff there Mr. Herman!
Todd, I am very grateful for your podcast & Christ centered approach to viewing the world. I have learned so much valuable insight and you have become one of my favorite people. I live in blue New Jersey & although we have some good fighters I think you would appreciate, the state is slowly becoming less recognizable. Your show gives me the fuel I need to get through my day. I wanted to bring something to your attention that I saw awhile ago but wasn't sure if you had seen. My favorite QB of my favorite team, Tua Tagovailoa, had a wonderful answer to how he deals with adversity & people criticizing him. I'll let the video do the talking.

Take care, Todd & God Bless.
