Beyonce, whom I know little about, decided to take an iconic country song and remake it. I go through Dolly Parton’s song Jolene to highlight the nuances you may have missed in the story and to show what is missing from Beyonce’s version. The original song contains an element that the Party hates. Why the need to remake Country music and into what? From that place, I look at art under the eye of totalitarian regimes. You may be surprised at what connections can be drawn from Mao and Stalin’s views on art to the remaking of Country music by Beyonce.

What does God’s Word say?

Psalm 98:4-9

4 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth,

    burst into jubilant song with music;

5 make music to the Lord with the harp,

    with the harp and the sound of singing,

6 with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn—

    shout for joy before the Lord, the King.

7 Let the sea resound, and everything in it,

    the world, and all who live in it.

8 Let the rivers clap their hands,

    let the mountains sing together for joy;

9 let them sing before the Lord,

    for he comes to judge the earth.

He will judge the world in righteousness

    and the peoples with equity.

Episode 1,535 - Parents of a Teen Murderer Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison. Am I The Only Person Asking the Question-Not-To-Be-Asked? (AUDIO & VIDEO)

James and Jennifer Crumbley seem to be a mess and are probably sociopathic. They did a lot of things wrong, a lot of parents do, but buying a gun for their disturbed son, while pretending to buy it for themselves, is another thing entirely. They have also verbally attacked the families of the victims that their son killed. What struck me about this is where it occurred: north of Detroit. In this same area, there are many acts of violence perpetrated by young people who were failed by their parents. So, why are these parents on trial? I am not saying I disagree with the sentence, but I am asking, why them? Is it a race thing or something else? What about all the other kids who have gone haywire? We also take a look at the media’s portrayal of Dexter Reed. Does it remind you of anyone?

What does God’s Word say?

Deuteronomy 6:7-12

7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.

10 When the Lord your God brings you into the land he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to give you—a land with large, flourishing cities you did not build, 11 houses filled with all kinds of good things you did not provide, wells you did not dig, and vineyards and olive groves you did not plant—then when you eat and are satisfied, 12 be careful that you do not forget the Lord, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.
