Episode - 1,221 The new attack on single family housing, how Target maintains stock growth while they keep losing money and why Zach Abraham is grateful for his baby son’s time in the NICU
Zach came in on a bit of a tear. He sent me a text before the show because in Pierce County, in the separate country of Washington, there has been a change in the housing laws. Why am I telling you this? We are not a local show; we are a global podcast, but I tell you about this because it is coming to your area. The separate country of Seattle is where they test all of their evil schemes. Pierce County (Tacoma) now has what King County (Seattle) did with housing. The law states that you cannot conduct background checks on proposed renters, and you cannot discriminate against pedophiles. And, by the way, you have to accept applications on a first-come, first-serve basis. Zach explains why this is great for Blackrock, which wants to own all the housing. Remember, “You'll own nothing and be happy”? Zach explains that and how they intend to roll this out across the country. He also tells us about passive ETFs and how companies that are losing money continue to have their stock prices rise. We talk about this because it might be that up to 60% of your retirement money is in ETFs.
What does God’s Word say?
Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
Episode 1,222 - On Gratitude: For you! For destroying my shoulder, being forced to sell a house I loved and for a very small, poorly bit bathroom.
This episode is on gratitude. First, for bringing us together. Yes, it’s another year, another Thanksgiving where I am going to tell you how I am so thankful for you. As I record this, it has been a good year and a half since I ripped my shoulder to shreds. Today, I can look you in the eye and say I am deeply, deeply grateful that happened. I can look you in the eye and tell you I am deeply grateful to live in a house I don’t like. I am deeply grateful I was forced to sell a house I dearly loved. And, I am deeply, deeply grateful, eternally grateful for this poorly lit, back bathroom. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” Happiest of Thanksgivings to you! Thank you so much for letting us do what we do.
What does God’s Word say?
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
Todd,
I know you are thankful for the trials that God has brought you to and has helped you to overcome, but so am I. You have become an inspiration to me. I can't go a day without listening in. I love that you put God first in the podcast. As a political junkie, I'm glad that your podcast is on the top of my list for getting news, etc. I can always count on you to bring it all back to God. I hope you and your family have a great Thanksgiving. God knows we have tons to be thankful for!
Your friend,
Don
